Avian Invasion on the "7B's Brunch" Sessions presented by The DJ Sessions at the Queen Anne Beer Hall 5/29/21
About Avian Invasion -
Avian Invasion used to be just a man, but a very old one. As he grew older, vital functions began to fail: He lost the ability to hope and, with it, the ability to dream. His eyes began to fail, so all he could see was darkness and fear. His hearing faded to a point where every new song only sounded “not as good as music used to be.”
All of this took a toll on his heart, until eventually that too threatened to break.
One day, when it seemed he would finally just wither and turn to dust, he was given a great gift. He was rebuilt, piece by piece… the broken parts replaced, the damaged parts repaired. Now he isn’t entirely a man, but not entirely a machine either.
He is simply Avian Invasion, and all he can see now is hope. The Bird’s melody-driven, dynamic performances have been showcased at venues like The Underground and Rendezvous in Seattle. Avian Invasion’s singles and albums are available everywhere dance music is sold or streamed. You can learn more at avianinvasion.com

Dance Loud on The DJ Sessions presents the "Virtual Sessions" 5/26/21
About Dance Loud -
Opposites do more than attract. Their fusion generates friction and sparks energy. Representing opposing sides of the spectrum, Kristin Sanchez [DJ, producer, engineer] and Desereé Fawn Zimmerman [drums, guitar, vocals] comprise one dynamic and diverse whole in Dance Loud. The Chicago duo co-mingles Fawn’s live instrumentation steeped in classical training with Sanchez’s electronic production and DJ wizardry. Acclaimed by Chicago Tribune and sharpened into a live force via countless shows since their 2008 formation, the pair push the full potential of this union on their 2020 independent full-length debut, The Moment.
“Duality seems to be a constant theme in our life together,” states Kristin. “We’re each other’s creative opposite. Desereé is a total metalhead with jazz and gospel roots. I’ve always been into bouncy club music and started out as a Latin and soulful DJ. When you put us together, you get Dance Loud. The Moment reflects both halves where the beginning of the track listing is more like me, and the bottom half is super emotional like Desereé. The one thing that never changed is the fact we really like high tempos. It’s the midnight BPM at 128.”
“We call it ‘Emotional Dance Music’,” adds Desereé. “You can experience it together, but it’s almost meant to be heard alone.”
Initially, Kristin and Desereé caught each other’s attention in art school. A relationship blossomed before they found themselves on stage together. As the story goes, Kristin had a DJ gig, and Desereé hopped on the drums, illuminating the potential of their creative chemistry. By taking on real estate projects, they financed a D.I.Y. musical operation as Dance Loud. They dropped their debut single “Spy Vs. Spy” in 2013 and performed across North America, taking over the Artist Lounge at Bonnaroo and packing celebrated venues such as Knitting Factory in New York and The Steady in Toronto. The pair trucked along and quietly built an audience until a horrific accident nearly derailed everything.
In 2017, a semi-truck rear-ended their vehicle. Airlifted out of the wreck with internal bleeding, Sanchez broke eight ribs, her collar bone, sacrum and shattered pelvis. The destruction also claimed an old computer with ten unreleased songs as well as other gear. During a month in the hospital, the future became clear. “Kristin wasn’t able to walk for a long time,” sighs Desereé. “Music was the only thing helping her. We started talking about it in the hospital, because we had nothing but time to think.” “It really put a fire up our asses,” adds Kristin. “I shut down the voice in my head telling me not to do this. I said to Desereé, ‘If we’re going to die tomorrow, do you want to have one song or an album?’”
As soon as they left the hospital, they commenced work on what would become The Moment. The musicians successfully completed a GoFundMe campaign, which was created, hosted, and launched by their friends during the accident. Afterwards, they created the entire body of work independently—thanking funders in the eventual liner notes. Now, Dance Loud introduce the record with the first single “Hollow.” Crafted from analog guitars, drums, and field recordings, distorted synths give way to an angular beat as hypnotic vocals enchant and engage. It blurs the lines between electronic immersion and alternative orchestration. “It specifically speaks on duality,” Kristin explains. “It’s about being hollow inside. Every bad person has a good side, and every good person has a bad side. It’s a pervasive theme on the record.”
Meanwhile, chilling piano and sinewy guitar wrap around “Why Lie.” The downtempo soundscape ebbs and flows alongside the hushed delivery. “It’s about a realtor we knew who kept lying for no reason,” Kristin goes on. “There’s no need to lie though—ever.”
Chirps and buzzing lock into a future-forward groove on “Shady Beach” as the track shuffles towards a bold and blissful refrain. Then, there’s “Hear Me Out.” Intense emotion spills out between off-kilter beats as they detail “a real argument in our relationship and how sometimes we need to be alone to heal ourselves.” Meanwhile, they bookend the record with “Time” and “Travel,” which much like the members also complete a full circle.
“They’re two sides of the same piece,” Desereé elaborates. “We were obsessed with studying time travel at the time. We were also really inspired by Dark Side of the Moon and all of the conspiracy theories about it. We wanted the whole album to represent an endless loop with ‘Time’ and ‘Travel’.”
In the end, the duality distinguishes Dance Loud forever.
“This is our journey together,” Kristin leaves off. “After the accident, it all started to make sense. By embracing who we are and our differences, we’re about spreading positivity and karma through this music.”
Desereé concludes, “Each song has a lot to tell people. It’s like we can’t shut up.”

Massimo Vivona on The DJ Sessions presents the "Virtual Sessions" 5/26/21
About Massimo Vivona -
Massimo Vivona was born in Sicily Italy. He was young and impressionable during the explosion of electronic influence in music and was absolutely captivated by the 'other worldly' sounds that were able to be achieved through experimentation of electronic instrumentation.
Groups such as Pink Floyd, Kraftwerk, Rockets and Mike Oldfield were all a huge inspiration for Massimo to go deeper into his passion for music production. Also influenced by funk, Massimo cites tremendous inspiration was sparked by artists such as Johnny Guitar Watson and James Brown.
Massimo began Dj'ing at age 11 at events in Sicily and these events kept growing larger. Upon coming of age, Massimo moved to Germany to pursue music production further. When his first production "De Largo' was complete, he gave it to Pete Namlook of FAX RECORDS label in Frankfurt. Torsten Fenslau, the manager of club DORIAN GRAY in Frankfurt got a hold of the single and it was soon after placed at #1 on the club charts in Germany. This began Massimo's international DJ career.
Massimo has over 65 releases, including 6 albums and has been featured on over 85 successful electronic dance compilations worldwide. His repertoire includes works published by Sony Music, BMG Ariola and has collaborated with Warner Chappell Music and Universal Music for licensing.
Massimo Vivona founded Headzone Records in 1995 along with Andy Howard founder of Intergroove Distribution UK. Their focus was the worldwide distribution of vinyl and CD's of some of the most cutting edge electronic music artists. Massimo continues to have a deep appreciation for vinyl and to this day prefers playing his sets on vinyl. "Digital sounds sort of synthetic compared to vinyl, it does not have the sound quality that vinyl does; Vinyl has a much more warm sound and is the grandfather of digital music and should be respected." "Vinyl gives life to the music."
Headzone Records is currently operating out of the U.S with the same mission of the distribution of exceptional electronic music on vinyl worldwide. "Special thanks to Pete Namlook for believing in my music RiP, and my brother Andy Howard and All Family of Intergroove for also believing in my creativity."

ZONA on The DJ Sessions presents "Attack the Block" at the Waterland Arcade 5/25/21
About ZONA -
Growing up in Southern California, ZONA found his passion for music at a young age and has been following that passion ever since.
Being a newcomer in the industry, ZONA started DJing as a Senior in High School in 2018 playing small gatherings and parties for friends. As he went off to Seattle to attend the University of Washington, he transitioned into playing large house parties and formal events in the Greek System.
ZONA has also garnered attention on SoundCloud through posting a variety of different DJ mixes, most famously his Cocktails & Dreams Mix Series. As COVID 19 hit the world, he switched over from performing to live streams on Twitch and has been on the platform since.
Along with that, he is also within the private event space through Orion Entertainment playing at various locations throughout the state of Washington. There is nothing better for ZONA then setting the vibe for an event and watching everyone dance.
His favorite feeling is playing a track the crowd isn’t expecting and watching the bodies fill the dance floor right after. His favorite genres to spin include tech, bass, disco, future, and progressive house.

machine_logic on the "7B's Brunch" Sessions presented by The DJ Sessions at the Queen Anne Beer Hall 5/22/21
About machine_logic -
machine_logic, curator of deep, hypnotic, progressive dance grooves with a delicate, ethereal chemistry.
Always digging deep, his emotive selections tell a story. With every set, he shares more and more tiny pieces of himself. Having grown up with an eclectic collection, it took him a great while to come around to the sound he’s carved out for himself. He cut his teeth in 1999 at KGRG-Auburn, at Green River Community College, where was music director. He hosted their industrial radio program, KGRG’s Propaganda Department.
From there came a spattering of club gigs that turned into some local residencies, more club gigs, and then his selection became more and more eclectic, yet more refined. Traipsing through a variety of styles, he finally landed with a massive collection of the emotive and uplifting side of techno, house and breaks (quite the 180 from his years in the industrial scene, for sure). While the music he plays is happy, soulful and playful, he is never afraid to show those dark roots, especially when the dancefloor heats up.
He has played all over the Pacific Northwest and up and down the West coast. He loves playing nightclubs, patios, outdoors, and festivals having shared the stage with a wide swath of underground artists. He is always looking to express himself musically. For him, it’s all about the feeling, the hypnotic groove, taking those present on a profound and sentimental journey.

Tripdubb on the "Mobile Sessions" presented by The DJ Sessions 5/19/21
About Tripdubb -
In a dark corner of the Pacific Northwest hides the post-apocalyptic ruins of a once bustling metropolis that is now home to what remains of the human race. Where warring tribes of survivors fight for control of the world’s remaining technology and music is traded as currency.
From a dark and gritty soundscape a silhouette emerges, the lone figure on a battle shaken stage. Bass bins tower over the masses in formation. Ready to strike.
Clouds of smoke rise from the crowd. The silence threatens the safety of all that is left. Our hero springs to action, hacking in to the local sound grid.
Security systems trace the breach to known member of The Midnight Sons, username tripdubb, but are unable to shut down the arsenal of Breakbeats, Drum and Bass, Glitch and other sound collateral now broadcasting across every speaker in the district.

Tripdubb on the "7B's Brunch" Sessions presented by The DJ Sessions at the Queen Anne Beer Hall 5/8/21
The DJ Sessions and the Queen Anne Beer Hall have teamed up to bring you one of the best brunches in the city better known as the 7B’s Brunch…
BENEDICTS, BRATS, BURGERS, BEERS, BLOODY’S, BACON, AND BEATS BRUNCH.
Every Saturday starting at Noon you can come to the “Hall” and start you day with and awesome assortment of menu items that will make your mouth water while at the same time be part of one of the world’s most popular live streaming DJs series.
The best thing is that you and your friends can still enjoy a great brunch without having to talk over loud music because we use “Silent Concert/Disco” headsets so it doesn’t disturb your amazing day or add an extra “thump” to your existing hangover.
Free headsets are available (and limited in supply) with a minimum food/beverage tab and you better get here early to get a table and save room for your friends.
Additional headsets can be rented and the price varies depending on your food beverage purchase.
Each headset is sanitized and only used one time per event.
If you would like to purchase a pair for yourself let the TDJS staff know and you can have your own that you can use at any of our events.
You can join us in the chat room when we are live by going to thedjsessions.com/live and be a part of the show.
In addition to this amazing event we do every week The DJ Sessions has teamed up with Bloodworks NW.

About CHRIS138 -
Chris Roeder, known as CHRIS138. was born and raised in Southern California and made his way up to the PNW in 2015. He first grew a love for trance music listening to Tiesto’s “Elements of Life” album, and since then, his passion has grown from listening to mixing.
Over time, his music taste has diversified and he now mixes anything from Trance, to Melodic House, to Hardstyle, to even Dubstep on occasion. The 138 in his name stands for 138 beats per minute commonly found in trance, as his trance sets contain emotion and energy flowing throughout the mix.

Chris strives to grow as an artist and learn more in the industry, providing music and most importantly, happiness, to others.
